Eveline Johnson Eveline Roberts Johnson was born at Tudhoe Colliery near Spennymoor, County Durham in 1908. Her father, Thomas Owen Roberts died when Eveline was five months old, it was then that her mother took her back to her home village of Trimdon Grange. When Eveline was six years old her mother married George Johnson. Apart from periods of time spent nursing in Surrey and Sunderland, Eveline has lived in The Trimdons all of her life. After nursing, Eveline turned to teaching and taught at Hartlepool, Trimdon Parochial School, Horden Special School and Deaf Hill. Since her retirement in 1968 Eveline has continued in her active community involvement and enthusiastic study of local history.
